Alice Mary Sladek, 98
Alice Mary Sladek, 98, of Montgomery, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1 at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery, with Rev. Robert Rendahl officiating. Interment will be at Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Alice Mary Sladek was born in rural Montgomery on July 16, 1907, a daughter of Frank and Catherine (Voca) Lestina. She attended rural school near Montgomery and married Raymond Sladek on November 22, 1932 in New Prague. Alice was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, baking, singing, spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing up north. She lived on a farm at Greenleaf Lake from 1936 until 1999, when she moved to the nursing home.
She is survived by a daughter, Irene Moravec, New Prague; five sons, Ivan, Montgomery, Ronald (Delaine), Le Center, Joseph (Delyla), Le Center, Art (Franny), Montgomery, and Ken (Donna), Le Center; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandchild, Hunter Ceplecha; and four sisters, Bessie Sladek, Lil Wondra, Agnes Jindra and Esther Jindra.
